The best thing about Januarys — a new year and new possibilities. I love how other people feel the same way, looking for something NEW in the new year.
One thing I like to choose is a Word of the Year. I haven’t decided on mine for 2016 yet, but have posted some inspiration on my blog if you are thinking of choosing one word. There are also lots of groups like #OneWord365 or Christine Kane’s “Word of the Year” Discovery Tool.
Maybe you’re also crafty, like me. =) Here are some great options for the fiber lover:
A Temperature Blanket or Scarf
Knit or crochet a new row every day to correspond with the day’s high temperature. Or, if you prefer, you could do a small square a week so you only have 52 to join?
Downton Farewell Crochet Along
My favorite show is ending after this next season, SOOOOO sad. And I’ve tried very hard to NOT read spoilers online since the UK has already had this season. US version starts on Sunday night. And one of my favorite designers is hosting a Crochet-Along where you can craft as you watch. Join in HERE and make this beauty.
I also really love Mystery-A-Longs — where a piece of the pattern is revealed every week or couple of weeks. So, you don’t know WHAT you’re making but have control over color, fiber, etc. I completed a Downton Abbey one several years ago and it was so much fun!!
There’s a new Downton Abbey MCAL
In Portland, we have a Yarn Crawl every year and I’ve purchased the pattern for the Rose City Yarn Crawl Mystery Crochet Along First clue is release January 27 so there’s plenty of time. Here’s the knitting link, too.
more ideas tomorrow!
